January, usually not the most exciting month in the vegetable garden. Other than preparing the ground when the weather allows and a bit of general maintenance, there is still some waiting to do before the planting season can get started.
It’s been such an unusually mild, dry May this year in my, normally cool and wet, Cheshire garden. My plants have been happily galloping away. I’ve been planting-out like there’s no tomorrow, and I’m thinking, if this continues, I’ll be reaching full-on flowery Nirvana in no time at all.
Established and run by the North of England Horticultural Society, the twice-yearly Harrogate Flower Show offers visitors an amazing gardening event experience. The show features established designers and nurseries alongside newer designers and even a category for the work of some amateur groups, offering a wide range of exhibits for visitors to experience.
