People whose greenhouses take up a fair proportion of their small outdoor area have been told they can still have a thriving garden.
Co-author of Garden Up! Smart Vertical Gardening for Small and Large Spaces Rebecca Sweet has highlighted the potential of the innovative concept.
She told the Associated Press that “vertical gardening” is a phenomenon that looks set to catch on.
Trellises or lattice frames can be attached to brickwork to make the area look far more appealing and “living walls” are now on trend.
“People are trying to maximise every square inch of their property,” she told the news provider.
“More people have smaller properties or just a balcony or courtyard, but they still want to have a garden.”
Shows organiser for the Royal Horticultural Society Bob Sweet recently advised homeowners to decide exactly what purpose they want their garden to serve before setting about any elaborate planting or design work.
