Top gardening events for the summer

Gardening enthusiasts eager for some inspiration this summer have had a range of horticultural events recommended to them.

Sector commentator Jane Owen makes her suggestions in the online pages of the Times, noting that Waddeson Manor gardens are having an open day this weekend (June 28th – 29th) which features large 3D floral displays and a woodland playground.

As July rolls around, Kew Gardens will be hosting its annual Summer Swing from July 8th – 12th and Ms Owen notes that even people who have visited the site before will be able to enjoy a night-time amble through the facility and enjoy the atmospheric lighting.

Finally the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)s Wisely garden is planning to host an open evening with musical accompaniment on August 19th.

"Its a chance to see this iconic garden with its new glasshouse in, literally, a different light," Ms Owen concludes.

Meanwhile, the end of the summer will see the RHS London Flower Show at the Royal Horticultural Halls.
