Regents Park wins award

For years it has been an inspiration for gardeners to make use of their greenhouse and beautify their land, but now Regents Park has won the central region category of the 2008 Britains Best Park competition.

Aside from the parks excellence in looking after the environment, its design, usability and community involvement, judges were especially impressed by its wonderful horticultural displays.

It is a proud achievement for the staff at the park who work hard year-round to keep it looking lovely, according to chief executive of the Royal Parks Mark Camley.

"I am delighted that the Regents Park has received the Britains Best Park Central Regional Award," he said.

"This award recognises the dedication of the Park team and all our partners in making the Regents Park a valued green space that is enjoyed by millions of visitors and local people every year."

Gardeners inspired by the displays at the London park may wish to attempt to replicate them in the greenhouse before transplanting them into their own gardens.
