Growers prepare for Dig Together Day

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts around the UK are set to come together in celebration of their shared interest next month.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is hosting its annual Dig Together Day, which is a growing festival that runs on the weekend of September 4th and 5th.

A celebration of the UK’s gardening clubs and horticultural societies, the event will see teams of growers old and new come together to work on community planting and maintenance of green sites.

"The campaign aims to introduce people to their local gardening group, where they can join in activities and enjoy learning new skills," the RHS explained.

Those wishing to take part can download a registration form from the organisation’s website.

Approximately 3,000 clubs are affiliated with the RHS, giving garden and greenhouse fans across the country plenty of opportunities to pick up growing tips from other enthusiasts.

In other news, the RHS recently advised growers to concentrate on watering during the month of August.
