First-time buyers (FTBs) have a number of options open to them in order to make their mark on a property, it has been suggested.
Property developer George Wimpey is currently working on a development in Stirling aimed at getting FTBs on to the housing ladder.
The three-bedroom Friarton style of house is semi-detached, with one smaller bedroom said to be ideal as a nursery and a combined kitchen-diner.
According to the developer, "these new homes are literally being snapped up off-plan as soon as they become available".
Homeowners could find such a property an ideal starting point from which to expand in the future.
For those with growing needs for space, kitchen extensions might provide the necessary room to separate cooking and eating areas.
George Wimpey advises new homeowners that "more space will give you more energy for new possibilities in your life".
"Most importantly, the kitchen arrangement should not have the cook standing with their back to the door," the developer asserts.
However, those building kitchen extensions may wish to take into account the suggestion that red units could interfere with the inhabitants digestive processes.
