Butterfly greenhouse to open in Texas

Garden and greenhouse lovers in Texas will soon have a new facility in which to enjoy nature.

The Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium is set to open on September 12th after receiving help from horticulture experts at Calloways Nursery.

As many as 1,000 butterflies will live in the glass house during peak season and those wishing to check it out may be able to get discounted admission tickets from the Calloways.

The site is located at the Texas Discovery Gardens Fair Park in Dallas and executive director Melissa Martin explained the help from the nursery firm has been much appreciated.

She said: "This partnership creates a wonderful synergy as both organizations hold the highest level of excellence in horticultural expertise and educational programming."

Ms Martin added the companies share a common goal of helping people create and maintain beautiful gardens.

Earlier this summer, the site hosted the Basically Beethoven Festival, where a series of free classical chamber music concerts were staged.
