Bury to Represent North West in RHS Awards

The town of Bury has been selected amid substantial competition to represent the North West of England in the Royal Horticultural Society’s annual Britain In Bloom awards.

The North West region judges nominated Bury, after demonstrating an outstanding commitment to environmental responsibility, community participation and gardening achievement.

The finals will take place in July and August of this year, with Bury’s representatives taking judges on a tour of local projects and green initiatives.

Over the past year, Britain In Bloom has seen an upsurge in community and voluntary participation, with estimates pointing towards a 30% increase.

Andrea Van Sittart, Head of Regional Development with the RHS said;

“On behalf of the RHS, I’d like to wish every volunteer from Bury the very best of luck in this year’s UK finals and look forward to celebrating with you all in October.”
