Brits would use gardens more if they had a conservatory

Its official – Brits believe that having a conservatory would encourage them to make better use of their garden.

According to research conducted by Alliance and Leicester, one in five UK homeowners dont use their gardens as a social or living space.

However, around half of those surveyed said they would be more likely to make use of their outdoor space if they had a conservatory.

This is something that Alliance and Leicester head of personal loans Richard Al-Dabbagh agrees with.

"Unfortunately the UKs notorious reputation for bad weather means that homeowners do not get to spend as much time as they would like in their garden, with one in five admitting they dont use their outside space for social or living purposes," he said.

"The top additions to make gardens more enticing include heaters, hot tubs, saunas, workshops and conservatories, and homeowners who want to make the most of this space may opt for a personal loan in order to make their garden more desirable and usable."

The Royal Horticultural Societys website is packed with hints and tips for amateur gardeners looking to make the most of their outdoor space and improve the view from their conservatory.
