Work set to begin on medieval-style garden in Northamptonshire

The idea for the garden has been in the pipeline for five years and plans were given the go-ahead after funding was handed out by The Big Lottery Fund’s Changing Spaces initiative.

Project manager Carol Fitzgerald told the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph the idea has been five years in the making and the HFTBCP wanted to bring to life a hidden gem in the grounds of Chichele College.

Higham Ferrers mayor Bert Jackson added: “So many people pass by and say ‘we didn’t even know it was here’. Once it’s done I’m sure it will be a very good asset to Higham Ferrers.”

The Hailsham Town Council in Sussex have encouraged residents in the area to sign up for a scheme to plant 10,000 bulbs across the area in order to brighten it up for visitors and locals alike
