Visit gardens for horticultural inspiration

Homeowners struggling to find their horticultural muse have been given some advice by Ronseal.

Those seeking inspiration should head to one of the Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) gardens to solve their problems, it claimed.

The firm recently conducted research which showed that many Brits are stuck in a garden and greenhouse rut.

A large number (42 per cent) of homeowners spend less than £100 per year doing up their green space.

Furthermore, the statistics show that many only invest in their yard once every five years.

Ronseal garden designer Michelle Wake suggested that a trip to one of the UKs many public gardens could help provide inspiration.

"They can get out and go to the shows – the RHS shows, or to all of the beautiful public gardens," she said.

"England has got some of the most beautiful gardens in the world, so there really is no excuse for lacking in inspiration."
