TV search for UKs best garden

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowens new show on Five is set to begin this week, showcasing some of the nations top gardens.

Beginning on Thursday, the series will examine two gardens per week, which will then be critiqued by a panel of judges and considered for the Channel Five / National Gardens Scheme Gold Medal Award.

A range of styles will be explored, with Mr Llewelyn-Bowen spending a day at each garden to get the background behind the garden.

Judges include Royal Horticultural Society Chelseas Mark Gregory and The Virgin Gardener author Laetitia Maklouf.

The programmes presenter praised the standard of British gardens and highlighted the difficulty of the task of choosing a winner.

"The thing that delights me most about presenting is the fact that Im spending time in the midst of something the British have always done incredibly well," he explained.

"Finding Britains best garden is a very high bar because as a nation it seems were just so darn good at it."

I Own Britains Best Home and Garden begins on Thursday at 8pm on Five.
