Time running out for RHS Photographic Competition entry
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has reminded garden and greenhouse enthusiasts planning on entering its Photographic Competition that they only have until October 30th to do so.
Adult entrants have six categories, while children have two, with the top adult prize being £1,000.
The winner will also be awarded the title of RHS Photographer of the Year, while the victor in the childrens section will receive a high-spec digital camera and the title of RHS Young Photographer of the Year.
Adult entrants must be 19 or older and categories include a plant portrait, plant close-up, garden view, wildlife in the garden, people in the garden and garden edibles.
The competition is split into two sections for youngsters – the Budding Photographer is for those aged 14 to 18, while In the Garden is for those aged 13 and under.
For each section, entrants are asked to take a photograph of whatever interests them in their garden or greenhouse and submit it along with a short story about the image.
Meanwhile, the RHS recently reported that the National Trust has discovered a number of rare plant species in its grounds across the UK.
