Table space important for family kitchens

A key issue for some homeowners is whether there is enough room to place a table in the kitchen, it has been revealed.

The news comes from property developer Miller Homes, which found the matter important to one pair of first-time buyers at its Ascot Park construction in Gedling.

Miller Homes explains that the couple, Katherine Cook and Lee Marshall, purchased a house on the site designed to the Wolsey specification.

This incorporates a kitchen-diner with patio doors leading out on to the exterior of the property.

Ms Cook comments: "It has space in abundance, with a kitchen that has ample room for a table.

"I was brought up with family mealtimes and this is something I wanted to be able to do too with my family."

Her observations could lead many homeowners to consider a kitchen extension as a means of acquiring the necessary space to add a dining area.

The Guardian previously reported that loft and kitchen extensions could be a wiser investment in order to gain a larger property than spending money on the fees associated with moving house.
