RHS Wisley to host two events
Garden and greenhouse fans will be able to see a spectacular display of floral delights at the Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) Garden Wisley next month.
The attractions Hillside Events Centre is set to host the British National Carnation Society Show on June 29th.
However, visitors will also be welcome the following day when the venue has its special open day.
This will involve propagation and growing demonstrations, with attendees able to pick up tips and advice from the experts.
Visitors will be shown how simple pinks and carnations can be to cultivate and will also be treated to two talks from RHS experts.
The first will be given by carnation and pinks sub-committee member Carolyn Whetman who will discuss how breeding work is helping to create healthy and beautiful flowers for the 21st century.
It will be followed by a lecture from alpine grower and RHS rock garden plant committee member Jim Jermyn, who will give advice on the alpine Dianthus.
Meanwhile, the RHS recently appointed a new director of horticulture to act as an ambassador and help run its plant trials and committees.
