RHS to Support Horticultural Trainees

The Royal Horticultural Society has joined forces with the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) in a bid to create horticultural training opportunities for young people within the RHS School of Horticulture.

The training opportunity will enable the RHS to take on 12 trainees over the next three years. Each trainee will be sponsored by the NGS, with one of the four annual trainees being assigned to one of the four RHS gardens – Wisley in Surrey, Harlow Carr in North Yorkshire, Hyde Hall in Essex and Rosemoor in Devon.

The trainees will be gain a broad range of practical horticultural skills over the duration of the placement across a number of disciplines.

RHS Ambassador Alan Titchmarsh said;

“The announcement of this new partnership between our two great gardening charities is wonderful news for aspiring gardeners and can only help raise the profile of gardening as a career.”
