RHS to issue insect tips at Creepy-Crawly Week

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) will provide tips on how insects can help garden and greenhouse enthusiasts at an upcoming event in its Great Torrington site called Garden Rosemoor.

Creepy-Crawly Week begins runs from May 23rd until May 31st.

Horticulture fans will be educated on how the 10,000 insects living in every square metre of habitable land on earth can help improve conditions.

The week will feature a number of events, including visits from the North Devon Beekeepers Association, which will showcase its hives on the Tuesday and Thursday.

Families will be able to take a guided walk around the gardens at 11:30 and 14:30 BST each day and are also invited to the Bangers and Brash party in the new family picnic and play area on Wednesday May 27th at noon.

The RHS is currently partnering with Waitrose to run a road show educating schoolchildren about growing their own fruit and vegetables.
