RHS to build green learning centre

Gardeners looking to pick up tips for keeping their outdoor space and greenhouses blooming will soon be able to make use of a new educational facility.

The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has revealed it is to build a Learning Centre and Library at its site in Harrogate.

It plans to make the construction carbon-neutral and revealed it is set to be one of the most environmentally-friendly buildings in the country.

The body also hopes to educate building industry professionals on how to create structures using green techniques.

It is hosting a free seminar on September 9th at the Learning Centre in Garden Harlow Carr.

Anyone in the construction trade or related areas with an interest is invited to register to attend without charge.

The new facility is set to educate around 10,000 children per year, teaching the next generation of UK garden and greenhouse experts useful hints and tips.

Meanwhile, the RHS is to conduct a survey of horticulture fans to find out how the cold winter affected their exotic varieties.
