RHS reveals new entries for Chelsea Flower Show

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts planning a trip to Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show in 2011 are guaranteed something new, the organisation has reported.

It is to feature entries from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne and the Principality of Monaco for the first time.

The Melbourne entry will be designed by renowned Australian landscape gardener Jim Fogarty and is set to feature plants grown mainly in the UK to ensure they are perfect for the show.

Meanwhile, Sarah Eberle will create the Monaco show garden, which has still to be officially ratified by show manager Alex Denman and his colleagues.

However, it is believed that Prince Albert – ruler of Monaco – is determined to see a model of his principality among the best gardens in the famous show.

Other highlights to look forward to at next year’s marquee event include the Luciano Guibbilei-designed Laurent Perrier garden and the B&Q entry from Laurie Chetwood, which is said to be nine metres high.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show takes place from May 24th to 28th 2011.
