RHS releases gardening app

Those with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad will be able to access the application for free on the iTunes store website.

It is specifically designed to help those planning to grow fruit and vegetables in their garden or greenhouse and contains a host of advice.

Users can input their experience, time and space and will be given a number of suggestions tailored to their needs.

RHS experts have included advice for each fruit and vegetable, including what to plant at each time of the year, recommended varieties and common problems.

The application is available now, but those who download it can also expect updates later in the year, which will allow users to track the progress of their plants using a calendar function that includes reminders and weather information.

Those looking for garden inspiration could also take a trip to one of the RHS garden attractions, such as Wisley, Harlow Carr or Rosemoor.
