RHS Cardiff Show

This year’s Royal Horticultural Society show in Cardiff (April 19th – 21st) promises to be one of the top events in this year’s horticultural calendar.

One of the key themes of the show is supporting garden wildlife, and there are several key exhibits to visit if you want to encourage wildlife to visit your garden.

One of the most interesting exhibits will be “Up Cycle”. University graduates, Andrew Wade and Victoria Nicol will be demonstrating how to get the most out of your garden by “up-cycling” – native planting, designed to be low maintenance with a high wildlife yield. Their garden will be fully constructed using recycled and waste materials.

Another interesting exhibit will be the “Wet and Wild” exhibit. Showcasing naturalised native wetland planting, there will be interactive arts and crafts exhibits themed around wetlands in adjacent marquees.

Other fascinating exhibits will include one dedicated to the preservation of bees, a Friends of the Earth Learn & Grow area and the RSPB Cymru exhibit.
