Retirement residents to get new glazed pool house

Residents at a retirement community in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania are set to get a new conservatory in which to enjoy the sunny summers and crisp winters that typify the states climate.

However this will be no normal conservatory. There will be no sitting in front of a TV or playing dominoes in this glazed formation.

The newest addition to St Barnabas Retirement Community is a four-building structure complete with heated swimming pool and treatment rooms.

The glazed buildings will be interconnected and will be able to hold up to 300 people, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

"We wanted to preserve the pool, and the design does that perfectly," explained spokeswoman Kathleen Brenneman.

"Weve found that the warmer water is better for joints and arthritis, and various other problems that many of our residents have.

"Weve hired an instructor who is certified in water aerobics and various types of therapy. Studies have shown that these activities are very beneficial for senior citizens."

UK citizens wishing they could have something similar to keep themselves fit may wish to look into a bespoke glazed pool house.
