Prince hosts longest-ever Royal Garden Party

Garden and greenhouse enthusiasts have been invited to attend what is thought to be the longest Royal Garden Party in history.

Beginning on September 8th, the event, which is being hosted in the grounds of Lancaster House, Clarence House and Marlborough House, is the brainchild of the Prince of Wales and acts as a vehicle for promoting green living.

According to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), those heading to Lancaster House Garden will be able to see the Earth Pavilion, which has been constructed from mud tiles and other sustainable materials.

A plethora of activities, such as debates, comedy and music, are available to keep visitors busy and a number of celebrity guests have already made appearances.

Renowned gardener Alan Titchmarsh joined Jools Holland, Alistair McGowan and Ken Livingstone at the event on Friday (September 10th).

Meanwhile, Saturday saw Emma Watson’s People Tree Fashion Show and Orsola de Castro’s upcycling workshop take place.

Tomorrow (September 14th), the party will host Sir David Attenborough and Celebrity Master Chef finalist Dick Strawbridge.

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £7.50 for kids.

In other news, the RHS has reported that plant enthusiast and renowned writer and broadcaster Roy Lancaster is set to give a lecture, lunch and guided walk at Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest in Kent.
