Nuneaton pupils get greenhouse challenge

Pupils at Alderman Smith School in Nuneaton have taken up the task of building a brick-based greenhouse.

The project aims to give the kids an understanding of construction and follows the children undertaking a skill base course at Camp Hill Opportunities Centre, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

Pupils will be expected to design the greenhouse, manufacture the profile formers and clear the proposed site at the Pool Road Centre in Coventry in preparation for the work to begin.

The project has been designed to give the kids an insight into the greenhouse building trade.

In other news, the BBC Radio Four programme Gardeners Question Time recorded a special 60th anniversary show in Ryton near Coventry recently.

The panel of Bob Flowerdew, Anne Swithinbank and John Cushnie were asked questions by a 100-strong audience about how best to grow plants and vegetable in their own gardens.
