New production team for Gardeners Question Time

The popular BBC Radio 4 programme Gardeners Question Time is to change its production company for the first time since the controversial 1994 changeover when its panellists defected to a rival show.

That should be avoided this time though, with outgoing producer Trevor Taylor, head of Taylor Made Broadcast, retiring to go sailing with his wife.

The new contract has been handed to Sony Award-winners Somethin Else, according to mediaguardian.co.uk.

"After a competitive tender process, Somethin Else has emerged – subject to contract – as the preferred supplier of Gardeners Question Time," a Radio 4 spokesperson told the news provider.

"This long-running series is a much loved part of the Radio 4 schedule. Somethin Else is an excellent production company with a strong track record and we believe the programme will be in good hands."

Gardeners should not fret though – the programme is likely to retain its panel of experts that includes Bunny Guinness, Pippa Greenwood and Bob Flowerdew.
