Missouri garden and greenhouse fans to get growing tips
A Missouri newspaper has drawn garden and greenhouse enthusiasts attention to an upcoming seminar.
The Going Green in the Garden event takes place on October 10th and will explore topics relating to gardening in the winter, according to the Springfield News Leader.
Growers attending can reportedly expect to learn about seed collecting and storage, worm composting and mulching, as well as tips on what to do once the late summer sun fades.
The article revealed there has been a rise in the number of people interested in gardening over the past year.
It stated the seminar is aimed at giving those new to the pastime a solid base of knowledge ahead of the new growing season.
"Beginning gardeners will get advice on how to save time and effort to grow a thriving garden," it said.
Other areas of discussion will be insects and diseases, weeds, pesticides and green measures, such as rain barrels.
Meanwhile, Loyola Universitys Centre for Fitness special programmes coordinator Kara Smith recently explained gardening could be a good form of exercise.
