Gardeners in Michigan can hear the advice of gardening author and show host Melinda Myers at the upcoming West Michigan Womens Expo.

The 11th annual event takes place between March 13th and March 15th and will feature over 400 exhibits.

According to the Grand Rapids Press, Ms Myers will tell attendees that growing vegetables in the greenhouse and garden is a great way to be eco-friendly.

The author of Cant Miss Small Space Gardening told the news provider that vegetable gardening was this years gardening trend.

"The fact I filled the room on that topic says people are interested," she explained, commenting on last weekends Philadelphia Flower Show.

"I am excited because I think this is the way we are going to get the next generation back into gardening."

Growing fruit and vegetables in the garden and greenhouse has been mooted as a possible way to save cash in light of the recession.

Barack Obama was barely inaugurated when gardeners began to suggest he should designate a part of the White House grounds to a market garden."ADNFCR-1495-ID-19067382-ADNFCR"
