Make right choices over house move
A property buying expert has warned potential homebuyers to be cautious in their approach.
People should put off moving if they have any concerns over keeping their job or they cannot find a mortgage deal they are happy with, according to Firstrungnow.com managing director Helen Adams.
The website specialises in helping first-time buyers get the keys to their own home, but she stated there should be no rush to do so in the current climate.
"From many lenders the requirement for a mortgage is still 25 to 35 per cent [deposit], so it is still quite difficult for house buyers, because even though house prices have come down a bit they are still very high," Ms Adams said.
Her comments come following recent research from moneysupermarket.com, which found 90 per cent loan-to-value deals have all but disappeared from the mark
