London prices keeping up the average
With the property market still in uncertain territory, some homeowners might be considering investing in a conservatory.
The tentative nature of the industry was underlined by recent comments from Mouseprice director Selwyn Lim, who suggested London house prices could be influencing national figures.
Recent data from Chesterton Humbers found low end property values to be falling, while more expensive homes are rising.
Its Poll of Polls found the typical price for a UK residence rose in June for the first time since April 2008.
However, Mr Lim suggested this could have had something to do with the capitals market pushing ahead of other areas.
"Bearing in mind that London property is on average a lot more than the rest of the country, that could possibly be behind the discrepancy," he stated.
The expert noted it can be hard to accurately assess prices when the market is at such a low point as the volume of transactions means samples are small.
