Improve the view from your lean to with an organic garden

Lean to owners looking to improve their view can do so while saving money and getting healthy, it has been suggested.

Garden Organic knowledge development officer Phillip Turvill suggested people were missing a trick if they were not already growing their own fruit and vegetables.

Speaking at Gardeners World Live, the expert said cultivating your own produce could save cash, boost wellbeing levels and develop a new talent.

He explained the pastime could be useful during the recession, when many people are looking for ways to cut expenditure.

"People can grow their own very cheaply – they dont have to spend a lot," Mr Turvill commented.

"They can get a bag of soil, a bag of compost, mix them together and plant a seed."

Lean to owners may find themselves at an advantage as they can grow pepper seedlings inside, while granting them plenty of light.
