Homes with gardens attract people

Homes with gardens appeal to people, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) has asserted.

Kate Henderson, communications manager for the campaigning organisation, makes her comments regarding the redevelopment of brownfield sites, explaining that high-density housing should not be the only concern of such regeneration.

"Green space is not only important in creating desirable housing, it is also integral to more environmental design," she adds.

Continuing, Ms Henderson states that the creation of proper neighbourhoods – rather than urban deserts – is fundamental to housing provision

"We must positively plan communities which are viable and sustainable socially, economically and environmentally," she concludes.

The TCPA states that it promotes sustainable development and campaigns for reform within the planning system in the UK to make it more responsive to peoples needs and desires.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph recently noted that homeowners can increase the value of their property by carrying out home improvements such as installing a conservatory.
