Home owners to stay put
With the consistent fall in house prices, many home-owners are deciding to stay put and ride out the current financial climate, rather than move and risk losing money on what theyve paid for their house.
Almost six in ten (59 per cent) home owners are of the opinion that they would rather put off selling up until more favourable market conditions return.
But with some parties predicting that could take years, many will be looking to improve their lot in the meantime with a conservatory or glass extension.
This can not only add to the look and feel of the house, but when the market does finally right itself, the house will be more valuable than it previously was.
Property website FindaProperty.com has been extolling the virtues of having a conservatory in an article discussing eco homes.
"Conservatories are terribly popular in this country. And it’s not surprising," it reads.
"As well as helping to eke out the Great British summer, a conservatory is seen as a cheap way to extend your home and add value to your property."
Far from being like their older one-size-fits-all cousins, modern conservatories and glass extensions now come in a range of shapes and sizes and can be designed to fit any home.
