Happy 250th birthday to Kew

Gardeners from London and beyond are likely to descend on Kew Gardens this winter as the gardens celebrate their 250th birthday.

A series of Christmassy events will take place between November 29th and January 4th.

The gardens will host an ice rink and will see Santa Clause make an appearance amid the sparkling lights of the greenhouses and greenery.

Parents will even be able to use Christmas to introduce their kids to the joys of gardening with a seasonal White Peaks Childrens Shop.

Food and drink will be available for those using the ice rink and visiting the gardens and greenhouses.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy new attractions such as the Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop walkways, which will see them get an up-close view of the trees on the walkways suspended 59 feet in the air.

Kew Gardens are one of the Royal Horticultural Societys Royal Botanic Gardens and are a source of inspiration to gardeners of all ages.
