GreenSpace move Love Parks Week to accommodate kids

The annual Love Parks Week campaign has been moved by organisers GreenSpace to the end of July to coincide with the school summer holidays.

This years event saw the charity welcome over 200,000 visitors to more than 250 events, but moving the week to coincide with the school holidays will likely increase that number dramatically.

The new dates for next year will be from July 25th to August 2nd and Greenspace will be hoping to use the event to inspire school kids to get out into the garden and greenhouse and enjoy nature.

The charity encourage people to make the most of open spaces and chief executive Paul Bramhill was keen to point out how nature can be a great, cost effective pastime.

"Parks are an important resource for communities, especially in the current economic climate which is putting pressure on families budgets for leisure activities," he told Horticulture Week.

"There arent many other visitor attractions that are free to enter, open to all and that provide such a range of benefits to health, quality of life and the environment."

Those who attended one of this years events and were inspired to turn their garden into a beautiful getaway may wish to invest in a greenhouse to help cultivate the most desirable plants.
