Greenhouse enthusiasts urged to visit Scottish gardens

British garden and greenhouse enthusiasts may have begun to put their tools aside for winter, but that should not stop them visiting one of the nation’s many top horticultural attractions.

According to Visit Scotland, the country features a number of fantastic winter gardens, which provide inspiration for growers.

The sites also host a number of festive events in the run-up to Christmas, including Rudolph’s Christmas Trail at Culzean Castle and Country Park in Ayrshire, where children will be able to help find lost toys between December 4th and 12th.

Meanwhile, Crathes Castle garden and estate is hosting a festival on December 4th and 5th that will see the Cairngorm reindeer make an appearance outside the tented farmer’s market.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is also set to host its Christmas Walk on December 5th, when families will be invited to visit the site for free.

Meanwhile, the Royal Horticultural Society has released tickets for its 2011 events, including the Chelsea Flower Show.
