Greenhouse and garden website founders discuss resource

The founders of a garden and greenhouse supplies website have been discussing why they set up the online resource.

Hopeful Gardener marketing manager Sam Gilson explained a lack of online availability of garden tools and equipment, combined with a surge in interest in the pastime, led to the firms creation.

Founder Michael Chandler explained they came up with the name after realising even expert gardeners are left hoping their projects work out.

"It is also a superb way of describing ourselves, as we have limited gardening knowledge but an abundance of enthusiasm," he stated.

The website stocks all manner of garden and greenhouse accessories, from tools to cold frames and clothing.

Its management also plans to begin a partnership with a compost company, allowing it to sell the product around the country.

Mr Gilson explained the organic matter would come in re-usable plastic bags to help protect the environment.

In other news, Cambridgeshire newspaper the Ely Standard revealed the local horticultural society held its annual open day at the weekend.
