Get out of the gardening rut

New figures from Ronseal show that a large number of Brits are stuck in a gardening rut.

The statistics show that 42 per cent of homeowners spend less than £100 per annum on upgrading their garden and greenhouse.

Furthermore, many only improve their green space once every five years, the data revealed.

However, Ronseal garden designer Michelle Wake explained that while many people seem to be stuck for ideas, a trip to a public garden could be the perfect remedy.

A variety of sites are available around the UK and could provide great sources of inspiration.

"They can get out and go to the shows – the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) shows, or to all of the beautiful public gardens," she said.

"England has got some of the most beautiful gardens in the world, so there really is no excuse for lacking in inspiration."

RHS sites include Garden Wisley, Garden Harlow Carr and Garden Rosemoor.
