Garden Wisley staff clean up environment

Staff at the Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) Garden Wisley have decided to do their bit for the local eco-system.

Employees forgot about their botanical duties for a day and spent April 23rd cleaning up the environment around Wisley Village in Surrey.

The efforts of the Green Team – many of whom stay locally – have already been noticed by visitors, according to garden superintendent and team leader Tony Gregory.

"Many visitors drive through the village and we are really pleased with the results that this clean-up has achieved," he explained.

The garden staff felt compelled to step in after seeing waste products build up around their place of work, Mr Gregory concluded.

Among the items recovered was a brightly-coloured bath and toilet seat, while others were separated into the relevant recycling categories and dealt with appropriately.
