Garden and greenhouse company to organise swap shop

Garden and greenhouse fans in Texas may be interested in attending the upcoming Perennial Swap meets organised by Calloways and Cornelius Nursery.

Taking place at markets in Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth on Saturday September 26th, the events will allow growers to exchange and buy plants, pick up tips from experts and meet like-minded individuals.

Beginning at 12:00 local time and lasting for four hours, greenhouse enthusiasts will be granted free entry.

It will give visitors a chance to trade snippings, seedlings and rootings, while there will also be hourly prize draws for gift cards.

Vice president of retail marketing Kimberly Bird explained a similar event in the spring was a "huge success" and said Calloways and Cornelius Nursery aims to help garden and greenhouse growers succeed.

"We anticipate that the Fall Perennial Swap will be just as successful as the April event and hope Texas gardeners have a great time and make great finds," she added.

Meanwhile, the Examiner recently urged garden and greenhouse fans to keep a journal to help plan for next year.
