Free access to London gardens

Horticulture enthusiasts will on Monday (May 3rd) be able to visit a number of the top garden and greenhouse attractions in London for free.

To celebrate the launch of its new How To Grow Practically Anything book, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has teamed up with publishing house DK and the Society of Garden Designers to launch the Great London Garden Trail.

Featuring ten botanic sites across the capital, the event on bank holiday Monday is designed to provide inspiration for attendees.

It will grant them access to a number of sites from Bow in the east to Ealing in the west, allowing visitors to compare and contrast the differing styles.

The gardens, which include those at Great Ormond Street Hospital, will be open from 12:00 BST until 17:00 and each will provide brochures that give information on all of the sites.

In other news, the Eden Project has invited growers to share a pot of tea with its professionals, who will be more than happy to share their knowledge of horticulture.
