Farming greenhouse to celebrate 95th anniversary

There are many case studies that demonstrate the benefits of growing produce under glass and none more so than the William Bos Greenhouse & Farm, which has been doing so for nearly a century.

Online resource mlive.com notes that the facility has a total of 60,000 sq ft of greenhouses and generates approximately 60 per cent of its income from flowers, with the rest being generated by sales of vegetables such as tomatoes, courgettes, peppers and cucumbers.

Based in Michigan, the sites first was built around 90 years ago to help produce gain a head-start on the growing season.

Now in its 95th year, the farm is planning an open house to celebrate.

"Im trying to promote agriculture," William Bos Jr tells the resource.

Meanwhile, gardening expert and presenter of television programme Gardeners World Joe Swift recently suggested that an increasing number of people are looking to grow their own crops in vegetable patches at home.
