Farm shop opens in capital

In a move that shows the UK is leaning towards organically grown, healthy food, a fruit juice producer that previously sold its products at farmers markets has opened a shop in London.

The Kensington Church Street Chegworth Valley store in Londons trendy Notting Hill sells 15 types of juice, according to FreshInfo.

"We are very positive about our position. We have spent eight years on farmers markets selling fruit, strawberry bushes and juices, and there is a real demand for them," explained Chegworth Valleys Paul Spencer.

"We have also had a regular space on the farmers market in Notting Hill, so we know the new shops area well. We believe it is the first urban farm shop in London and if this one is a success, who knows where it will lead."

Gardeners in the UK have been leaning more towards growing their own fruit, veg and herbs ever since the financial climate took a turn for the worse in 2007.

Growing food in the garden or greenhouse can be a fun way of obtaining healthy food and saving money.
