Extensions to feature at Homebuilding show
The National Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the National Exhibition Centre from April 10th to 13th is to offer tips to those looking to put in place an extension, it has emerged.
More than 550 exhibitors are set to appear at the event, along with 120 free masterclasses and seminars being made available to those who attend during the four-day period.
Cotswold Journal terms the conference "the perfect place" to obtain advice from industry insiders on how to achieve a "cutting edge contemporary home or a glass basement extension".
However, previous advice from the shows organisers suggests that a glass kitchen extension could be wiser than converting a cellar.
Ahead of the March 2007 event, the organisers noted that basement conversions can involve digging down to increase ceiling height – which can be expensive.
But a glass kitchen extension can make use of the area behind the dining room in many properties without cutting out light to the rest of the house, they claimed.
