Duchess of Cornwall to visit guerrilla gardening sites

According to London SE1, the royal is the head to the Elephant & Castle tomorrow (September 6th 2011) in order to visit urban gardens in the capital and see how they can provide a boost to local communities.

Guerrilla gardening is spearheaded by Richard Reynolds from Elephant & Castle, who organises for work to be carried out in locations such as St George’s Circus and close to Morley College.

Participants usually head to the designated areas in the dead of night to spruce up eyesores and turn them into horticultural delights as a surprise for residents.

The Duchess will also be given guided tours of Walworth Garden Farm, the Stannard Hall Garden and Myatt’s Field Park Greenhouse Project in Camberwell.

Meanwhile, last week, the Queen advertised on the Balmoral website for a new head gardener at her Scotland estate in Aberdeenshire
