Double-check garden insurance, Brits told
Brits should double check their insurance policy to ensure their greenhouses and valuable plants are covered, it has been claimed.
A recent survey from GoCompare.com found the UKs gardens are being targeted by more than the birds and the bees.
It found almost a quarter (24.2 per cent) of families have fallen victim to garden crime in one form or another.
The firms statistics show the most claimed for objects are expensive plants, while the average British yard contains £1,040-worth of tools, furniture and other items, the online resource said.
"If the contents of your garden are particularly valuable, you may need to consider a specialist garden insurance policy," explained GoCompare chief executive Hayley Parsons.
The expert added TV has encouraged Brits to invest heavily in their gardens and suggested the good weather could bring out thieves.
Insurance firm LV= recently reported there is a 40-year waiting list on some allotment plots around the country.
