Conservatory flaws can be countered

While the best tactic of avoiding conservatory temperature problems is to invest in one from a reliable company in the first place, a home improvement expert has suggested there are ways to remedy any issues.

It was recently stated that such a glazed extension could add value to the home – and Homebuilding & Renovating Magazine editor Jason Orme explained putting thought into the heating situation was vital.

"It is a question of how big the conservatory is and how they may have extended the house in the past," he said.

Mr Orme suggested those who had installed a conservatory that was posing heating problems could benefit from under floor heating in winter and air conditioning in summer.

However, he implied that a little foresight might negate the need for such further investment.

Ratedpeople.com recently said a conservatory would pay for itself within five years through an increase in the value of the property.
