City workers urged to enjoy gardens
Workers in London will be able to enjoy a break from their normal office today and tomorrow.
Part of St James Park has been transformed into an outdoor office, overlooking the lake, complete with Wi-Fi, a reception area, board room and work desk area.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said its about showing that there are nice places to go in London to relax.
"You dont have to leave London to get away from it all," he said.
"Londoners are spoilt for choice when it comes to parks and open spaces.
"From Mitcham Common in the South to Friary Park in the North, our city is full of village greens, heaths, piazzas, squares and gardens."
Thousands of people are expected to flock to green spaces, such as St James Park, all across Britain over the summer to enjoy a relaxing time surrounded by beautiful plants.
Many will be inspired by the surroundings and will look to replicate their favourite areas in their own garden so that they can enjoy them every day.
Although some plants can be grown straight in the garden, growing them in a greenhouse can often speed growth and protect them from the elements until they are ready to be moved outside.
