Chorley gardeners brighten up town centre
Volunteer members of the Chorley & District Gardening Society filled the containers earlier this week with blooming red begonias, the Chorley Guardian reports.
Situated at the top of Market Street, the flowers – grown by the society before being transferred to their new homes – will last for several months.
Coun Eric Bell, who is responsible for keeping Chorley in bloom, said: “The containers once again look fantastic. They really brighten that part of the town centre and we get many positive comments about them.”
The centrepiece of the display is a Conifer Gold Crest, which stands in the centre of the begonias.
Entrants to the annual Best Kept Garden Competition, organised by the Chorley & District Gardening Society, are now being accepted
