Britney Spears is a proud and knowledgeable gardener

Pop star Britney Spears has reportedly turned to gardening as a form of therapy.

The 27-year-old Womaniser singer has had a troubled time over the past few years, but has recently re-launched her career with the album Circus.

However, the diva has been taking comfort in the book Chicken Soup for the Gardeners Soul and developed a keen interest in horticulture and how it can improve well-being, a source told the UKs Sun newspaper.

"Shes very proud and knowledgeable about what shes planted and what is growing around her home," the source explained.

The star is currently on tour in North America, where she is being supported by the Pussycat Dolls.

It is unclear whether she owns a greenhouse or has created a vegetable garden in the same way that first lady Michelle Obama has.

A campaign was recently set up to encourage all US state gardens to be maintained using sustainable measures.
