BBC renews RHS contract

Garden lovers who cant make it to the Royal Horticultural Societys (RHS) numerous garden shows will be pleased to know that the BBC has renewed its contract to broadcast all of the major shows.

The agreement will last for five years and covers the RHS Chelsea Flower show and RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park among others.

RHS director general Inga Grimsey said the agreement allows UK gardeners to view the cream of British gardening.

"This agreement with the BBC secures both long-term coverage of the worlds premier gardening events and valuable income to support our charitable activities," she said.

"Sharing our passion for plants, gardens and gardening with the widest possible audience is at the heart of our charitable mission.

"The BBC has consistently delivered impressive coverage of our shows over the past eight years, helping us to inspire and inform millions of people."

Gardening shows can be an excellent fountain of ideas for what to do with the garden and greenhouse for the coming year.
